Shaburi is a Japanese restaurant owned by Taiwanese. It serves Shabu Shabu and Sukiyaki, and is a decent place to go to in the winter. I would recommend ordering their boneless short ribs and sukiyaki.

I took my mom to EN Brasserie about two weeks ago, and thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. The small size of their dishes allowed us to try multiple items on the menu. My favorite dishes were the mochi croquette and nasuiri-dashi (chilled eggplant). The one dish I didn't enjoy was their sashimi special our friendly waitress recommended, and that would be the only complaint I have. For me, it was too fishy, but everyone has different tase buds, and I'm sure there are customers who liked it. Overall, I'm glad I took my mom to EN, and would love to go back again!

I went to The Modern with some colleagues last Thursday, and found the dining experience to be disappointing. The dishes I ordered were recommended by the restaurant, but they did not appeal to my taste buds in any way...Besides that, one of their wait staff was not knowledgeable enough. She brought over some petite fours, and when she was asked what the round, crispy desserts were called (they were macaroons), she told us they were "raspberry ravioli". It gave us all a good laugh, but quite embarrassing on the waitress' part. Maybe it was an off night, or I did not order the right dishes, but I would not want to go back to The Modern again soon. There are definitely better restaurants in NYC that are worth my time and $$$.
